Online Cluster Reconfiguration on Autonomous Disks Using Skew Handling Mechanism on Distributed Directory

We have been proposed autonomous disks to enable distributed control in the storage-centric systems. Autonomous disks configure a cluster in a network, and accepts operations using a distributed directories without any centralized server. Autonomous disks also manages load distribution, and has a capability of reconfiguring the cluster automatically. In this paper, we focus on the cluster reconfiguration utilizing the skew handling mechanism. The skew handling mechanism is provided by distributed directories. We also report preliminary results of our experimental system.
